    Marietta Community School is located at 368 Wright Street, Marietta, GA 30064 COST: $499 Course Breakdown: 30-Hours of Classroom Instruction 6-Hours of In-Car Instruction ADAP (Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program) This course meets Joshua's Law requirements, and qualifies families for a minimum 10% reduction in their insurance premiums. (Georgia Code O.C.G.A. 33-9-42). After completing the 30-hour class, students with a learner’s permit on file, are placed in queue for assignment to a driver training instructor. Students are assigned to an instructor in the order of class completion. The in-car instruction takes place a few weeks after finishing the 30-Hour class and is broken down into (3) 2-hour sessions. Students will receive one-on-one instruction using one of our specially equipped driver’s ed vehicles. The in-car instruction is conducted from our main car lot at Marietta Sixth Grade Academy located at 340 Aviation Road, Marietta, GA 30064. TIP: To maximize the effectiveness of in-car instruction, we recommend your student practice driving as much as possible, before driving with our instructors.   • Marietta/Cobb Driver's Ed Online Course

    30/6 ONLINE COURSE DRIVING PACKAGE As the 30-hour online course is self-taught, the student can work at his/her own pace and availability ensuring he/she is truly understanding and internalizing the information. The student will have up to 6 months to complete the course and will not be confined to a predetermined schedule. Please know that the student must be able to work independently and have strong attention, self-direction and test taking skills as well as, possess academic readiness and an understanding of technology to successfully complete this class. The students MUST successfully pass all Unit Tests and the Final Exam WITHIN three attempts to receive a passing score for this class. If the student fails to pass a Unit Test or the Final Exam, within the allotted attempts, he/she will fail the class. If the student fails the online class, he/she may purchase a new 30-hour online class, or attend a future in-person class, at a discounted rate, for a second attempt to successfully complete the 30-hour class. This course will require a minimum of 30 hours of "seat" time. This class is comprised of 10 Units and a Final Exam. Each component has an allotted time attached to its learning objective. The student must spend, at minimum, the allotted time in each objective before he/she is able to move into the next objective. Please know that even though the class has a minimum requirement of 30 hours, it is possible the student may spend upwards of 40-45 hours within the class depending on student's interest and understanding of objectives. REMINDER: The online class does not include the Alcohol & Drug Awareness Program (ADAP). If your student is in need of the ADAP course, go to https://dds.georgia.gov/adap to sign up for the ADAP free-of-charge. Once the student begins the 30-hour online class, he/she will be added to our queue to await assignment to a instructor for the 6-hour Behind-the-Wheel portion of instruction. Once the student is assigned, his/her instructor will contact the parent/guardian directly to schedule the three 2-hour behind-the-wheel sessions. NOTE: Upon picking a session, a parent/guardian will need to set up an account to process the student’s registration. THE PARENT/GUARDIAN MUST BE THE MAIN ACCOUNT HOLDER! After creating the account, you will need to add your student to the account. To do this, click on the "ADD RELATIONSHIP" button within the account to add your student's info. Once you have added your student’s info, you can register your student for the session. If you do not do this, the system will not allow you to register your student and may prompt an error that states “your student is too young or too old.”

    30/6 Online Course Driving Package COST: $479 This course package consists of 30 hours of online instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. The 30-hour online class meets the requirements for Joshua’s Law and qualifies for the Teen Driver’s Education insurance discount. (Georgia Code O.C.G.A. 33-9-42). The 30-hour online class is intended to teach students fundamental theories and practices associated with driving a motor vehicle including, but not limited to, the rules and regulations of the road, safe driving practices, proper attitudes, pedestrian safety and driver responsibility, defensive driving, car care/maintenance and car handling procedures. The ADAP course is required for all teens ages 15-17 who are seeking a driver's license. The 6-hour Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) instruction is one-on-one instruction that occurs on the road in an a Driver's Ed DDS-approved vehicle. This instruction is intended for students who possess positive and responsible behaviors, the ability to follow directions, a strong awareness of their surroundings, intact sensory acuity and have had some experience driving a vehicle. As safety and competence dictates, BTW instruction includes Range Work, Residential Driving and Expressway Driving. (If student's instructor determines student is lacking proficiency behind-the-wheel, not all components may be covered to ensure safety to student, instructor and other drivers on road ways. Extra driving sessions are available for purchase as needed.) All Driver’s Education cars are fully insured and equipped with an instructor side brake, extra mirrors and meet the requirements of the GA Department of Driver Services. BTW instruction consists of three 2-hour sessions that are scheduled at the discretion of the student's assigned instructor based on instructor's and student's availability. The BTW instruction is currently conducted from our main car lot at Marietta Sixth Grade Academy located at 340 Aviation Rd, Marietta, 30064. The 30-hour class and 6-hour behind-the-wheel instruction are conducted at separate times. Once the student begins the 30-hour class, he/she is added to a queue to await assignment to a behind-the-wheel instructor. Once assigned, the instructor contacts the parent directly to schedule the three 2-hour behind-the-wheel sessions. (You may schedule your student's in-car lessons, if your student's behind-the-wheel instructor contacts you to schedule lessons prior to your student's completion of the online course. The two instructional components work hand-in-hand, one is not a pre-requisite to the other.) Upon successful completion of the 30-hour online class, the student will receive a 30-hour Driver Education Classroom Completion Certificate via email from the online course account. Upon completion of the 6-hour BTW instruction, the student will receive a 6-hour BTW Completion Certificate via email from our office staff.     Mission Statement The mission of the Before & After School Program is to provide a safe, fun environment for children to participate in enrichment and recreational activities. These programs are designed for families in need of early morning and/or late afternoon supervised activities. Our programs include afternoon snack, supervised homework competition, arts & crafts, enrichment, fun group challenges and more! Before School Program (BSP) The Before School Program is the perfect option for children in need of early morning supervised activities. Our program includes time for homework, quiet games, and a reading corner. After School Program (ASP) The After School Program offers a variety of learning activities. Activities include games, crafts, technology, and more! There are also plenty of opportunities for Enrichment during this time. REGISTRATION INFORMATION In order for students to attend the After School and Before School Programs, students MUST be registered in advance. In order to properly staff our programs and provide quality programming in the safest environment possible, we kindly request that you register as soon as possible if you anticipate using BSP or ASP at any time during the 2023-2024 school year. Please know that it takes one business day to process your students registration, therefore you must register at least one school day prior to the day in which you would like for your student to attend. When we approve your students registration, your card will be charged the registration fee ($15 for BSP, $20 for ASP, or $35 if you are registering for both programs) at that time. Once you are registered, your child may attend BSP or ASP any time* for the remainder of the school year. *Please remember any same-day transportation changes must be communicated to the school by your school's deadline time! Children cannot attend ASP/BSP until you receive an email that your contract has been approved. Approval process will take a minimum of one business day to process. Registration Fees (once per year, per child) BSP: $15 ASP: $20 BSP Daily Rates ELC and Elementary Schools : $5 MCAA & MSGA: $6 ASP Daily Rates ELC and Elementary Schools: $10 MCAA & MSGA: $9 BILLING INFORMATION When registering your student for BSP/ASP, you will be asked to put a card on file. As a part of our user agreement, all ASP/BSP accounts must be enrolled in autopay. You are only charged for the days in which your student attends ASP or BSP. All ASP/BSP accounts will be invoiced on the 1st and 15th of each month. Payment is due on the 3rd and 17th of each month. The card on file for autopayment will be charged. If you wish to pay a payment with another card, log in before the day the invoice is due, and you can make a payment with a different card. Please know that all invoices will reflect a processing fee. Cash payments will not be accepted at each school due to the safety of our staff. If the card on file fails when autopayment is due or if a card is removed from the autopayment, the account will be subject to a $10 late fee. Please note this $10 charge will be assed to the account the day after the invoice is due. If there is a balance on the account by the 4th or 18th of the month, the Site Supervisor at your student's ASP/BSP location will give you a past due notice. You will also receive an email, and voicemail from our office letting you know the balance must be paid by noon on the 8th and 22nd or your student will be withdrawn from the Program. If the balance remains unpaid by noon on the 8th and 22nd , that will result in that being the last day your student can attend until the account is in compliance, and you have re-registered for the program. Parents are responsible for re-registering their student(s), from the program, after they are removed for non-payment. There is a $45 reinstatement fee per each student. Registration must be completed by noon, for the student to be able to attend the program the following day .
