Good Afternoon, Summer is almost here, and we’re getting everything ready for an amazing experience at Summer Camp in the City 2026! We’re excited to invite you to our Open House on Sunday, May 31st, 2026, from 1 to 3 PM at Marietta Sixth Grade Academy (340 Aviation Rd SE, Marietta, GA 30060). At Open House, you and your camper will get a sneak peek of what’s ahead. You’ll have a chance to meet your camper’s teacher, pick up their camp t-shirt and pick-up pass, purchase camp cash, speak with the camp nurse, and take care of any last-minute details to ensure a smooth and fun first day. If you’re unable to attend the Open House, no worries at all! Your camper’s T-shirt and pick-up pass will be available for you during pick-up on their first day of camp. We will have our Clinic Aide present during Open House to assist with any questions regarding medical needs. This includes collecting Medical Release Form and medications that your camper will need during camp hours. If you haven’t completed your camper’s medical form yet, please be sure to do so before the Open House. IMPORTANT: For our Field Trip to Urban Air, they require all campers to have a printed waiver on file. We kindly ask you to complete the attached waiver and email it back. Even if you have completed a digital waiver for Urban Air previously, they are requiring all students to have a printed waiver. We will also have printed copies of the waiver at Open House as well! If your camper does not have a printed waiver on file Urban Air will not allow your student to participate in the field trip. We do not want any of our campers to miss out so we ask that you complete this as soon as possible. To help you find your way to all the summer fun, we’ve linked our Camp Map here! Please note that the Summer Camp entrance is separate from the school’s main doors, but no worries—we’ll have plenty of signs posted to point you in the right direction. We’ve packed this email with everything you need to know to make sure they have the best camp experience possible. We know it’s a lot but trust us—it’s all important! Camp Details Hours: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM Location: Marietta Sixth Grade Academy (340 Aviation Rd SE, Marietta, GA 30060) Mark Your Calendars: Open House When: Sunday, May 31, 2026, | 1:00 - 3:00 PM Don’t miss this chance to: ✔️Meet the camp staff ✔️ Visit your child’s classroom ✔️ Pick up your camper’s t-shirt ✔️ Purchase Camp Cash ✔️ Speak with our Clinic Aide staff about student medication ✔️ Confirm your weeks of registration Plus, we’ll have a special sweet treat giveaway for campers—stay tuned for details! Camp Drop-Off & Pick-Up All check-ins, check-outs, and Open House activities will take place at the side entrance of MSGA under the breezeway (near the school gym). A detailed map will be sent before Open House. Please do not use the main front entrance of the school. Drop-Off (7:30 – 9:30 AM) Campers should arrive during this time to fully participate in daily activities. Need to drop AFTER 9:30AM? Call or text the camp phone in advance. Important: On field trip days, drop-offs are NOT allowed AFTER 8:45 AM. Pick-Up (4:00 – 5:30 PM) If picking up before 4:00 PM, allow extra time as campers may be in different areas of campus. Campers must be picked up by 5:30 PM. A late fee of $2 per minute, per child applies after 5:30 PM. Three late pickups = withdrawal from camp for the summer. Important: On field trip days, pick-ups are NOT allowed BEFORE 4:00 PM. Pick-Up Pass Requirement Every day, parents must show a Pick-Up Pass (paper or photo accepted). Pick-Up Passes will be provided at Open House—we recommend taking a picture for backup! Anyone holding a Pick-Up Pass will be authorized to pick up your child. Only share it with trusted individuals. Camp Staff & Safety Your camper will be in great hands! Each group will have two dedicated Summer Camp teachers who will be with them all summer. Our entire team is made up of Marietta City Schools employees who have been background-checked twice! Through Bright From the Start by the Department of Early Care and Learning, and by Marietta City Schools. Additionally, all camp staff is CPR-certified and have completed Health & Safety Training to ensure a safe and fun camp experience. Health & Safety Reminders If your camper requires emergency medication such as Inhalers, Epi Pens, etc. bring it to Open House with a signed Medication Release Form: Medical Release Form. If your camper has a medical care plan (asthma, diabetes, etc.), email it to campsupervisors@marietta-city.k12.ga.us AND bring a copy to Open House. Sunscreen should be applied before camp. Staff cannot assist with application, but campers may reapply throughout the day. Send a full water bottle every day! Hydration is key for an awesome summer! While all staff members receive basic first aid and CPR training to prepare for emergencies, the summer camp staff does not include medically trained staff or a clinic nurse. Fourth of July Week Camp will be CLOSED the week of June 29th. Campers can use these to buy snacks, drinks, and cool camp gear (like extra t-shirts, snow cones, and more). How to purchase: Buy Camp Cash Credits Here (sold in $20 increments). Purchases made before noon will be available the same day. Field Trip Fun Every camper gets one free camp t-shirt, required for field trip days! Pick yours up at Open House. Need extras? Purchase at Open House or with Camp Cash. Field Trip Days: Campers must arrive by 8:45 AM and cannot be picked up before 4:00 PM. Bring a disposable lunch and a labeled water bottle.
