Marietta/Cobb Driver’s Education is a joint program of the Marietta and Cobb County school systems. Our courses are offered to all high school students, ages 15 – 18, and they do not have to attend Marietta or Cobb County schools.
NOTE: When creating an account to sign up for a class, the parent must be the main account holder. Student should not be the main account holder. To add a student to the parent account, be sure to click on the "Add Relationship" option within the parent account to add student's info.
6-Hour Behind-the-Wheel Instruction from Marietta Sixth Grade AcademyBehind-the-Wheel (BTW) instruction is one-on-one instruction that occurs on the road in an MCDE DDS-approved vehicle.This instruction is intended for students who have strong attention, intact sensory acuity and some experience driving a vehicle. As safety and competence dictates, BTW instruction includes Range Work, Residential Driving and Expressway Driving. (If student's instructor determines student is lacking proficiency behind-the-wheel, not all components may be covered to ensure safety to student, instructor and other drivers on road ways. Extra driving sessions are available for purchase as needed.) All Driver’s Education cars are equipped with an instructor side brake, extra mirrors and meet the requirements of the GA Department of Driver Services.BTW instruction consists of three 2-hour sessions that are scheduled at the discretion of the student's assigned instructor based on instructor's and student's availability. BTW instruction is conducted from the Marietta Sixth Grade Academy located at 340 Aviation Rd, Marietta, 30060.(Student's registration must be processed and paid in full prior to instructor assignment.)Upon successful completion of the BTW instruction, student will receive a 6-hour Driver's Ed Certificate of Completion. Certificate will be sent to parent/guardian via email.
