The student will have up to 6 months to complete the course and will not be confined to a predetermined schedule. Please know that the student must be able to work independently and have strong attention, self-direction and test taking skills as well as, possess academic readiness and an understanding of technology to successfully complete this class.</p><p>The students MUST successfully pass all Unit Tests and the Final Exam WITHIN three attempts to receive a passing score for this class. If the student fails to pass a Unit Test or the Final Exam, within the allotted attempts, he/she will fail the class. If the student fails the online class, he/she may purchase a new 30-hour online class, or attend a future in-person class, at a discounted rate, for a second attempt to successfully complete the 30-hour class.</p><p><em><strong>This course will require a minimum of 30 hours of "seat" time. This class is comprised of 10 Units and a Final Exam. Each component has an allotted time attached to its learning objective. The student must spend, at minimum, the allotted time in each objective before he/she is able to move into the next objective. Please know that even though the class has a minimum requirement of 30 hours, it is possible the student may spend upwards of 40-45 hours within the class depending on student's interest and understanding of objectives.</strong></em></p><p><strong>REMINDER:</strong> The online class does not include the Alcohol & Drug Awareness Program (ADAP). The material has been OSHA certified through the American Safety Health Institute.</p><p>Once you have completed this class, please provide a copy to your Site Supervisor and the Program Coordinator. It is your responsibility to make sure you provide your supervisor with a copy.</p><p>This class is free of charge, however it will ask that you put a card on file for the $45 no show no call fee. Please park in front of Building B, the church, or at Henry Park.</p>6-Hour Behind-the-Wheel Instruction Onlyhttp://mariettacommunityschool.ce.eleyo.com/course/1300/2023-24-de-services-catalog/6-hour-behind-the-wheel-instruction-only2023-07-01T00:00:00-04:00<p><strong>6-HOUR BEHIND-THE-WHEEL INSTRUCTIONAL PACKAGE</strong></p><p>The 6-hour Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) instructional package includes three 2-hour sessions in a Driver's Ed vehicle, one-on-one instruction with a certified Instructor and a Certificate of Completion. </p><p>This instruction is intended for students who possess positive and responsible behaviors, the ability to follow directions, a strong awareness of their surroundings, intact sensory acuity and have had some experience driving a vehicle. As safety and competence dictates, BTW instruction includes Range Work, Residential Driving and Expressway Driving. (If student's instructor determines student is lacking proficiency behind-the-wheel, not all components may be covered to ensure safety to student, instructor and other drivers on road ways. Extra driving sessions are available for purchase as needed.) </p><p>All Driver’s Education cars are fully insured and equipped with an instructor side brake, extra mirrors and meet the requirements of the GA Department of Driver Services.</p><p>Upon receipt of your registration, your student will be added to our queue for assignment to a behind-the-wheel instructor. Once your student is assigned, his/her instructor will contact you directly to schedule the three 2-hour sessions.</p><p>Upon successful completion of the BTW instruction, student will receive a 6-hour Driver's Ed Certificate of Completion. Certificate will be sent to parent/guardian via email.</p><p>Policy Information</p><ul>
<li>Refunds are not given after the start of the first driving session. Refunds that are issued will be assessed a $35 processing fee.</li>
<li>Students must have a valid Georgia permit or license prior to participating in the 6-hour behind-the-wheel instruction.</li>
<li>To ensure we can fulfill your driving request, please allow us up to 10 business days to process your purchase and assign your student to a behind-the-wheel instructor. </li>
<li>Cancelled driving appointments result in lost instructional time and delay the assignment of the remaining students. Driving appointments must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a $50 rescheduling fee.</li>
<li>Student must have permit with them during all driving sessions. If student arrives to a driving session without their permit, the student will be turned away and will incur a $50 rescheduling fee.</li>
<li>During times of high enrollment, such as during the summer months, wait times for assignment to an instructor may take up to two weeks. </li>
<li>Please ensure your student has had the opportunity to drive six - ten hours prior to purchasing this course to ensure your student gets the most out of working one-on-one with a certified Instructor. </li>
